Albion Online Developers Will Continue With All Vehemence Against DDoS Attackers

Since the players of Albion Online had recently suffered some inconvenience due to DDoS attacks, there is now a small gift. As a compensation for the sometimes very unstable running servers, there is now a week free playtime on the affected accounts.

DDoS Attacks

In the past week, the servers of the Sandbox MMORPG Albion Online have been exposed to very violent DDoS attacks. In the course of this, there was even a sort of claim for money from unseen blackmailers who demanded an amount of approximately 18,000 euros for the cessation of the attacks.

While the DDoS attacks continue to this day, their intensity has now been reduced to a level tolerable for most players. Especially the log on to the servers of Albion Online now works again much better. Since the incident is quite unpleasant for the developers, there is a small compensation for all players who had problems between July 17 and August 11. One week each free game time is credited to the affected accounts.

Albion Online Released Solutions For Difficulties

Albion Online has had some success since its launch, so that servers are struggling to keep up with the load and that players are slowing down. The Sandbox Interactive studio provides technical solutions and compensations for players.

As noted, Albion Online was officially launched on July 17 and according to the Sandbox Interactive studio, the MMO is more successful with players than originally envisaged. Few developers complain about it, but here, the high population density in some areas puts the servers to the test and slows down the game. There is little or no evidence that players are experiencing slowdowns in overcrowded areas and clashes involving many fighters. And if the studio tries to demonstrate to the players both the origin of the problems and the solutions implemented, Sandbox Interactive is obviously also aware of the exasperation of some players and announces compensations: all Players who played between the commercial launch of Albion Online (July 17) and yesterday will receive seven days of additional premium game time on their account. And if the problems are not resolved within two weeks (the time to apply solutions, but also because the launch craze fades away), additional compensation will be granted.

What Players Don’t Like In Albion Online

In order to consolidate the feedback a little better, the develop team ask testors for the three things that things they really didn’t like or felt were out of place. Here are what they hate and some suggestions.

Albion Online

Trash System – Remove the breakage/trash system. Space is mostly at a premium and death is too harsh in that regard.

Crafting – Crafting book so we can see recipes without having to be at the crafting station. When Crafting, if you have enough mats in inventory, give us a selectable slider to craft multiples of same item, like resource refinement. Also same for building and repairing buildings, one click and use all mats in inventory, instead of one click per 5 resources used.

Map System – Change the Map system, it needs to be more accurate and contain more info, since the game depends on travelling. Be able to adjust mini-map from entire area to/and or immediate area. Include dots on map for mobs and enemies (already have dots for guild mates). In addition to the whole world map, a detailed map of each zone that players can open up is needed. “I would like to put markers on that map. I would like to be able to see my guildmates on that map. I could never quite tell where my guildmates were this round because the distance their dots were showing up was so small, the mini map is so small, and the buildings I had placed were covering their dots when those dots did show up.”

Movement – Mounts are needed, a great deal of time is spent traversing the land back and forth from house to Gatetown, to craft. So much time spent running from here to there and back again. So much time. Either Mounts, Teleportors between npc cities like Gatetown and King’s Market.

Real Estate – Need more space for buildings/tents/houses. Some people are building multiple tents because there isn’t enough space to go around. If there’s going to be limited plots in safe zones for housing, these should only be available to solo players.

Guild – Let guilds control whole zones, fill the zones with more personal plots that a guild can rent out to the public or keep for guild use with guild protection on storage in guild claims. Once a guild gets a territory, members should only build housing there. The base plots should be redesigned allowing more buildings. Maybe make the whole area available for building. We can mine and chop trees down, why not terraform the land in base, to make housing spots available. There could be plots for sale in PvP zones, to help alleviate this problem.

Combat – When you get hit enter combat as well, shorten ‘in combat’ timer or create a hotkey to switch between “fighting” mode and “gathering” mode. Automatically swapping to the correct tool for harvesting while holding your weapons would be a very nice change. Remove or reduce cooldowns in PvE/non combat.

Auction Houses In PvP Areas – Availability to build Auction Houses (preferably a lot smaller than the one in King’s Market) in PvP guild plots – I think if this was implemented, a lot of PvE players would want to sell their excess armors and weapons that they make while unlocking higher tier armory and weaponry. This would let the PvP players buy their armors/weapons and go out to battle quicker. Having the auction house so far away from PvP areas will also have a negative influence on PvE players, as the demand would be lower and supply would be higher due to the fact that nobody would want to travel 4-5 or even more cluster to get there and then back.

Other Advices

  • Detailed spell info with numbers. How much damage exactly does a spell do before resists. How much does spell heal for, how much does an ability buff.
  • Implement a “party system” (Allowing any character to create a party consisting of 2-5 players that can chat/know each other location.)
  • Create a Joystick for mobile users, enlarge buttons for tablet users.

Albion Online – The Protectors Of Albion

They are there, they are back. Awakened by a long sleep by an ancestral magic, the Protectors of Albion will once again cross its lands. True guardians of the world’s resources, they will be an unrivaled source of these resources. Let’s look at the details of these ancient giants.

To the number of 5, the Guardians are gigantic opponents protecting large quantities of resources. Like most other creatures in the game, these Albion Guardians will turn into a resource node when they die. The difference is that they contain no less than 2,560 Tier 6 resources (not counting the yield bonuses at harvest). So they are a very important goal for any farmer group or guild.

However, defeating them will not be so simple. First, they are very powerful opponents. The developers recommend raid groups (at least 10 players) in order to defeat them. Each has a different strategy, which means that one group can be strong against one and weak against another. Then, each Guardian can appear in any red or black zone whose biome matches. This means several things:

  • It will have to be found, so scout the area to hope to find it before the others.
  • As soon as it is found, it will be necessary to quickly set up a group to defeat it. It will also be necessary to take care of the smaller monsters that will not fail to accompany the Protector.
  • You will have to fight it while taking into account that other groups can take advantage to ambush, attack in the back etc…
  • It will be necessary, at best, to create a group to defeat the Guardian according to the strategy.

Note that its reappearance time is random, between 12 and 48 hours. It will therefore be difficult to find it without a bit of luck and a lot of organization. A last important detail: Guardians are protected against concentrated fire. Basically, the more people who type it, the more individual damage is reduced. It will therefore be necessary to make the share of things in strike force and limited group.

The Different Guardians Of Albion

There are 5 of them, each linked to a particular resource, and to the corresponding biome.

Old White

  • Hitpoints: 904,849
  • Auto-attack damage: 3,000 (physical) to everyone in front of Old White.
  • Avalanche: Old White uses its trunk to throw a number of rocks. Everyone hit will receive 2,750 magic damage and be knocked back 15 meters.
  • Spirit Stampede: The massive mammoth gets on its hind legs and brings down a stampede of three spirit mammoths that damage everyone in their path, dealing 3,750 magic damage and knocking them back 15 meters.

Ancient Ent

  • Hitpoints: 922,591
  • Auto-attack damage: 2,892 (physical)
  • Piercing Roots: Thorny branches sprout under every player, appearing every 1.3 seconds for a total of 8 times. Avoid them, or you will not only receive 1,250 physical damage, but will also receive 375 damage over time for every time you got hit. With these nasty branches appearing everywhere, you have to be extra careful not to run into a teammate’s path!
  • Nasty Roots: The Ent rampages on the ground, rooting and dealing damage to the tank and nearby players. Every tick deals 1,000 magic damage, with a total of 10 ticks. This spell can only be interrupted with the Interrupt skill!

Rock Giant

  • Hitpoints: 878,236
  • Auto-attack damage: Ranged attack, 3,750 physical damage to everyone hit.
  • Earthquake: The Rock Giant lets out a tremendous roar, after which it starts stampeding the ground, hitting everyone in a 20 meter radius for 2,500 physical damage. If you are 10 meters or less away from the Giant when he starts stampeding, you will be hit for an additional 6,250 damage! Once hit, you get knocked back 28 meters.
  • Rock Prison: All players with a ranged or magical weapon are trapped in a prison of rocks, stunning them completely. Damage the rocks to get them out fast, as they will receive 500 true damage (meaning armor is ignored) every 3 seconds (for a total of 15 seconds). Everyone who is within 1 meter radius of the rock prisons receives the same amount of damage.
  • Giant Kick: The Rock Giant kicks the main tank, massively reducing the already generated threat. On top of that, the target and everyone in a 3 meter radius around the target receives 2,500 physical damage and is knocked back 15 meters.

Enormous Dryad

  • Hitpoints: 860,494
  • Auto-attack damage: 3,818 (physical)
  • Eroding Swamp: Initially dealing 2,500 magic damage, it also places a deadly debuff on its target. M speed is reduced by 20% for 20 seconds, threat generation is reduced by 10% for 20 seconds and it deals 250 damage per second for a total of 19 ticks, for each stack of the debuff. Consider bringing multiple tanks!
  • Pulsing Thorns: Spiky thorns spiral around the Dryad, in an outwards direction. When hit, you will be silenced for 15 seconds and suffer 1,250 magic damage every 3 seconds, for a total of 6 ticks. Especially healers should be very wary of this skill!
  • Double Cleave: All players in front of the Dryad receive 2,500 magic damage. This attack has a range of 15 meters!

Ore Colossus

  • Hitpoints: 895,978
  • Auto-attack damage: none (no auto-attack)
  • Giant’s Punch: The Colossus slams his fist into the ground, dealing 3,800 physical damage to the tank and will inflect them with Crystal Resonance. This debuff pulls players closer to the tank every 8 seconds for 4 ticks, with more stacks of Crystal Resonance increasing its range by 5 meter (maximum of 5 stacks). On top of that, the Giant’s Punch has a 50% chance of spawning four exploding crystal in a straight line, with each explosion dealing 3,000 damage.
  • Crystal Swarm: Every player in a 30 meter radius around the Ore Colossus receives a crystal bomb. This crystal explodes after 2.5 seconds, dealing 3,000 magic damage to its target and everyone within 4 meters. Spread out, if you want to stay alive!

Albion Online Patch “Hector”: All Harbors And Black Zone Cities Will Be Removed

On June 7, the patch “Hector” will be released for the MMORPG Albion Online. And today the developers decided to tell you about the upcoming changes:

  • All harbors and black zone cities will be removed. And for travel between continents in Caerleon, the center city of the Royal Continent, players will start using the portal;
  • Exits from the portal of Outlands are divided into several types: green – low regions of black zones, yellow – medium, red – high. And although teleportation will be free, but you should expect some time limits;
  • Caerleon will acquire the status of a black zone citiy;
  • All black zones will have the same amount of resources, but the level of their enchantment will depend on the level of the area;
  • Tier 8 resources will appear only in the territory of the watchtowers. And their revival time will be tied to the prime time of the territory;
  • It is possible that the anti-zerg display will work, but so far the team has not decided to introduce it or not.

Albion Online: Francophone Community Event May 12

For all francophone players of Albion Online, here is a future community event that will take place on May 12th.

Book your Friday 12th May in the evening, because a big community event will set fire to Albion Online!

The final phase of beta is an opportunity to test all aspects of the game as well as the endurance and power of the guilds. This PvP / PvE event organized by the French-speaking community is open to all and will be broadcast on the channels of several participating streamers, so as not to miss anything of the clashes.

The “Camlann For Ever” Event

Having a great time on Albion Online, strengthening the bonds of the French community and fighting to win great rewards is the program for the evening of May 12th.

The Festivities:

The registered teams will battle under the banner of the different participating guilds and will be composed of 2 groups:

  • 1 PvE group of 12 players who will be there to kill the mini boss and ideally the final Boss RAID. Each killed boss earns 2 points for the team, the big boss 10 points and the Raid Boss 20 points.
  • 1 PvP group of 20 players who will be there to protect the PvE team and do as much damage as possible to opponents. For the final count, a point will be awarded per kill in opponents.
  • The playground will be Camlann, the appointment will be given around 20:30.
  • The starting points for each team will be drawn 24 hours before the start of the event and all will start at the same time to try to win (see map below).

The Participants

The originality of this event is that each team will count among them a streamer, it will then be very easy for you not to lose a crumb, to follow your darlings or even to go to feel the temperature in each team.

The participating guilds are: (incomplete list, subject to new entries)

  • The Indyspensable, guild founded by Zerator (no streamer advertised yet).
  • The Bears in Pwal, which you can follow on the chain of Arthéon.
  • The Gobinours with GoBGG, team to follow on its channel.
  • The Gobinours with Bob the Gob and Narkuss.
  • Teampoulet with XuTV.
  • The Sardoche Army to follow on the chain of Sardoche.
  • The Indy Try Hard, to be followed on the Gius Range.

Apart from the streaming of the event on Friday May 12th, you can already follow the training and recruitment phases on these different channels. Do not hesitate to consult their schedule.

The Gains

  • PvP Rewards: The team with the most kills will get 32,000 golds, the second 16,000 golds.
  • PvE Rewards: The team with the most PvE points will win 32,000 golds, the second 16,000 golds.
  • A bonus will be given to the team that will succeed in dropping the Raid Boss and will be offered a personalized guild logo for the game.

Winners will be interviewed after the festivities! This event is an opportunity for everyone to attend the high level content of Albion Online and it promises to be epic!

Albion Online Decides To Revamp Hellgates

To better match the vision of the developers of Albion Online, the Hellgates dungeons are reworked.
