The Elder Scrolls Online is set in the period in the history of the continent Tamriel is called vacancy . This is not a fictional character – after the English Civil War , between 1649 and 1660 , the UK has its own space when there is no ruling monarch on the throne – but Tamriel continent vacancy is a little more mysterious.

We’ve Got Final Fantasy XIV Covered. Well, Mostly.

I was actually rather surprised to learn that folks were having connection issues with the early start of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. I downloaded the client on Saturday morning, logged in and played for maybe seven hours or so, woke up Sunday morning and played for another couple of hours, and then returned in the evening to put in another three or four. Never once did I encounter a problem.

It’s odd, really. With regular, non-MMO games, if there’s a problem yo I’ll find it and bitch about it incessantly. Massively multiplayer online role-playing games, on the other hand, part for me like the Red Sea in that one book. Here to supply Buy FFXIV Powerleveling

Update: Or it could be, as some commenters have pointed out, that I am playing on the Japanese data center instead of the North American one. How did I end up there? I have no clue.

Either way, yes — I am playing Final Fantasy XIV. I’ve actually got it running on a secondary computer now, hooked up to the television hanging on the wall of my office. It’s very, very distracting — even now that I’ve gotten the pants situation under control.

Final Fantasy XIV launch week

This is one week, and now early access to Final Fantasy XIV inception, it has been a strange introduction. Partly because it is not really a proper launch, which is a re-start a game without playing a few months, and now has returned to a form, it has changed so much that it is almost unrecognizable. Partly because of malicious servers somewhat unrestrained force; This is definitely a problem because.

FATE1
Error 1017

I started to say something that can be seen as bragging, when it really is not. I’ve sat through a lot of MMO launch.

In part because, ah, my job involves online games. In these cases, you see a lot of launch. However, I’ve been playing online games, and now in some capacity for 12 years, so it also tied a simple fact, I am interested in genre. Start I want to play on my computer I sat patiently universal participation, and those that I do not want to play is still a concern.

Actually playing the game

Yes, despite the login problem, I’ve got quite a lot of game time, this week. (I hope you enjoy all the extras.) The final test is good, but it still is the training wheels. Now I can make as many levels as I want, as long as I want, it just gets better.

However, these are almost always my picky than all my favorite things, this seems to be a very small list. Matt Daniel, we need something that is entirely appropriate, but at the same time, some of the features we already knew was coming. I think we can wait a little while.

Servers, on the other hand, can not wait very long. Let’s catch up, eh?

Firefall Beta First Impression: Wait, I Don’t Level Up?

The idea of a massive multiplayer online shooter tickles my fancy. Before even signing up for the beta, I was anxious to get started building the most elusive yet deadly sniper possible. I wanted to just strap up my jet pack and float around popping off head shots willy-nilly. As I started to burst the throbbing eggs filled with a variety of aranhas (a bug-like creature) I slowly began to realize Firefall will stray far from the traditional MMO template.

I kept on killing everything I could, ignoring the nagging mission waypoints on my screen, hoping to hear the beautiful “ding” of leveling up. Despite having a ton of experience, I never got that “ding”. As I gave up and moved on to the first mission, it became obvious that XP is almost like a form of currency in Firefall. I checked out my skill tree and was able to buy some reload and ammo upgrades for my sniper. Actually, each character has a battleframe, which is a piece of biotechnology allowing your character to take on the responsibilities of the Recon, Assault, Biotech, Engineer, or Dreadnaught classes. So instead of leveling, your XP is devoted to advancing whatever route you choose for your respective battleframe’s skill tree.

I finally thought to myself, “about time I got these mechanics down, lets get into this campaign.” Firefall has been labeled a team-based game and that stood out immediately. A few players floated past on their jetpacks here or there, but I couldn’t find someone to play a mission with to save my life. So, I gave up and started to try to go solo as long as possible, which ended up being about 10 minutes. I learned the hard way that tactics are just as important as firepower, especially with a Recon battleframe. I was able to jet-pack around more than most, had more speed than others, but also had significantly less health. Really, unless you make a class specifically for playing alone, team-work is vital.

So, I’m starting to get a hang of Firefall, and I get past the first mission and start to feel pretty proud of myself. But then I got my next task. I was given some charges and told to mine for silicate, a precious resource in the world of Firefall. Sounds simple enough right? Walking up to the way point, I figured I would just drop a charge on the ground and BAM! out comes the silicate. Wrong. I couldn’t figure out what I was doing wrong and eventually began dropping charges everywhere. Soon enough I blew up a small rock far from the waypoint and got some silicate. So, the waypoint indicated a general area of action. Got it.

All this time I spent mining and fighting off enemies, I did not get help from one single players. It wasn’t as if everyone was ignoring me, there simply was no one around. I died repeatedly, which was frustrating to say the least. Cooperation is vital to progression in Firefall, and at this point in the beta stage, there simply is not a big enough community. Still, the beautiful and fully realized environments and enemies serve as a reminder that F2P games can boast AAA quality production, even in beta stages.

Regardless of the hiccups, Firefall is a whole crap-load of fun. I can really see this game taking off once it begins to build a community. The final version will undoubtedly be a huge improvement on what exists currently, and that gets me excited. The prospect of building a unique character to rise to the top of the PVP realm is enough to keep me playing. But, as with all free to play games, there unfortunately is some kind of paid content. I was surprised to see that even in the beta stage, players could purchase red bean currency with real money to get upgrades. However, Red 5 Studios is “adamantly against selling anything that might compromise the skill-based aspect of the game.”

In the end, Firefall has immense potential. The gameplay is fast-paced, fun, and addicitive. The classes are unique and call for trying multiple battleframes with multiple characters. Unfortunately right now in this part of the beta testing, the community simply is not there. As time goes on and the game is officially released to the public, I think it will build a following large enough to support the heavily team-based gameplay.

TERA game guide

In the gallery,Sirjuka Gallery is the natural progression from Temple of Temerity in terms of master glyphs. The dungeon offers five unique glyphs for each class that are unobtainable from the Temple of Temerity. Sirjuka Gallery has no immediate cooldown; instead it has a limit of three entries per day, six if you’re an elite member, and instance reset scrolls can be used to reset your daily cap if you choose to have a field day with the dungeon.

The overall goal of the dungeon is to protect the crystals on all three platforms; bonus points are awarded for completing objectives in certain ways and within time limits or constraints. The crystals in the center of each platform generate constant aggro on the various mobs and BAMs that spawn, and some of these enemies can be pulled and unaggroed from the crystal while others cannot. More often then not, it’s the latter.

For damage classes, it is recommended to get your damage up before going into this dungeon as a party (weapon at least agnitor +9 with rerolled stats). A good estimate might be that you can solo the second boss of Temple of Temerity without any trouble; you probably have enough damage at that point.

Then again, you should already be skilled at Temple of Temerity at this point since many of the glyphs there will up your damage output considerably.

In other words, it is highly recommended that you don’t instance match for Sirjuka Gallery until you’ve gotten a few of the glyphs you need from Temple of Temerity. It is a faster dungeon to farm, and the badges can be gotten cheaply. This also applies to tanks and healers, as there are many great aggro and support glyphs you can snag from there.

There’s already a great guide for that dungeon by Espei that you can read here. However, any level 60 can solo-grind this dungeon for the minimum rewards each time, so if you have nothing to do, you may want to consider doing this (more on this later, most of this guide will assume you are running with a party).

Note that while you’re inside doing the dungeon, it is important to wait until your entire party is ready after finishing a platform before heading off to the next, as the platforms seal off behind you as you progress forward, locking anybody who might have been too slow in the previous area.

For the same reason, do not resurrect in town if you die, as you will not be able to get back to your party should you return and reenter the dungeon.

Like Temple of Temerity, depending on how well your group did upon dungeon completion you’ll have a chance to get two sets of currency items that you can put towards buying your Sirjuka Gallery master glyphs, Silver Talents and Gold Talents (more on that at the end of the guide, no point in worrying about loot if you can’t even complete the dungeon).

If you’re short on time, and/or regard PUGs with extreme aversion, you can “solo” the gallery for the minimum reward every run you do so as mentioned before. To find out how to do that, see the end of the guide or click the relevant link in the Table of Contents.

Blizzard CEO Addresses The Diablo 3

It’s been a bumpy road for Diablo 3 so far in spite of its successful launch, and Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime took a moment today to address the game’s fan community with a lengthy message posted on the Battle.net forums. He comments on roughly every chapter so far in the ongoing Diablo 3 story, from the post-launch issues with error messages to the rationale behind the real-money auction house to the planned changes in future updates.
Diablo 3 Preview - New Traits System, Revamped Runes, Skill Shuffle, and the Talisman!
There are a few noteworthy items of interest here. Morhaime mentions the upcoming patch v1.0.4, which will add “new and improved Legendary items” that he describes as “more interesting, more powerful, and more epic in ways you probably won’t be expecting.” Improvements to social interactions and the auction house are also promised for patch v1.1, as well as the recently teased plans for a more elaborate set of goals to reach for in the endgame.

Interestingly, Morhaime completely ignores the recent rash of bannings related to some players’ use of Linux/Wine to run Diablo 3. Blizzard claims that the bannings all stem from verified incidents of cheating, but a sizable portion of the fan community (or a vocal one, at any rate) has stepped up to insist that Blizzard’s testing process produces false positives.

Given how deeply Morhaime’s post dives into the various post-launch talking points for Diablo 3, the absence of any discussion of the recent bannings is surprising. That absence also could be read as a message in and of itself: Blizzard’s anti-cheating protocols are sacred, and the notification email sent out with each banning is, as it says, the final word on the matter.

The non-address of the issue in Morhaime’s post is definitely at odds with the studio’s “Every Voice Matters” philosophy that he lays out at the start. It’ll be interesting to see how the community responds to that and the rest of Morhaime’s statements in the coming days.
